History

Soroborno.com began its ambitious journey in December 2020 with youthful energy, fearless dedication, and an unwavering sense of responsibility to serve the nation as a truly authentic news platform.

We emerged at a time when the world was grappling with an unprecedented global pandemic. While social life came to a standstill, our team’s indomitable spirit never wavered. Whether reporting from computer desks or live from the field, Soroborno.com made its mark by keeping the public informed and connected through its website and social media channels.

Objective

Our mission is to inspire social awareness among the youth — encouraging them to think critically, express freely, and act responsibly. Soroborno.com serves as a platform for young voices to share ideas, champion causes, and participate in global conversations.

We believe it is our collective duty to build a better world for the next generation — and we do this by producing youth-focused, engaging, and thought-provoking content.

Governing Body

Soroborno.com is governed by a Board of Directors, headed by a Chairman and supported by other Directors. The Board oversees financial management and investments but does not interfere in editorial or policy matters.

Editorial policymaking rests solely with the Editor, who is appointed by the Board of Directors.

Organogram

The Editor is the head of all news, multimedia, and editorial units. They are assisted by the Joint News Editor and Sub-Editors for both the Bangla and English sections.

An Editorial Board, comprising the Joint Editor and Sub-Editors, develops editorials under the guidance of the Editor.

Operational management is led by the Director, Operations, while Finance and Administration are supervised by the Director, Finance & Admin. The Finance Manager oversees accounting, and the HR team recruits passionate individuals who share our vision.

Decision-Making Practices

Soroborno.com operates under a structured policy aligned with its objectives and values. Major editorial and organizational decisions are taken in weekly meetings led by the Editor, involving the Joint Editor, reporters, and sub-editors — usually held on Saturdays.

Our strength lies in our people. Soroborno.com employs skilled professionals from diverse backgrounds — from multimedia reporting to creative content production.

Gender Policy

Soroborno.com is committed to gender equality and the empowerment of women in journalism. Although there is no formal gender quota, the organization gives priority to qualified female candidates.

Currently, 8 female staff members contribute actively across different shifts. They are entitled to four months of maternity leave.

The organization maintains a zero-tolerance stance against gender discrimination and has consistently fostered a respectful, inclusive workplace. To date, no incident of harassment or discrimination has been reported — a testament to our culture of integrity and mutual respect.
